Thirty-five people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds, and Washington, including one newcomer, met at the Brighton Community Church September 24 for Celebrate Recovery. The evening included live praise & worship music by the CR Brighton Praise Band, and a testimonial from a young woman whose desire to be popular and attain worldly approval created many hurts that Jesus healed through her participation in Celebrate Recovery teen programming.
There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing, including two women's sharing groups, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups.
There were age-appropriate activities for eight children at the Brighton Church of God Gym. And the evening began with a shared meal ... the meal contribution sign up system is now being managed by a volunteer through email. Please contact Sharon at smwagner123@gmail.com to help provide meal items.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 1 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 p.m.
