Thirty people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds, and Washington met at the Brighton Community Church Sept. 10. The evening included praise and worship music and a testimonial from a young woman whose many life tragedies were used to eventually glorify God and bring others along with her to new life in Christ.
There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing, including two women's sharing groups, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups.
There were age-appropriate activities for seven children at the old school gym. Celebrate Recovery thanked the Brighton Church of God for the use of that facility. And the evening began with a meal. The meal contribution sign up system is now being managed by a volunteer through email. Contact Sharon at smwagner123@gmail.com to help provide meal items.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 17 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 p.m.
