Nearly 40 people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds and Washington, including two newcomers, met at the Brighton Community Church Oct. 8. The evening included praise & worship music and a testimonial by two teenage sisters who came to see themselves as God does - worthy - with the help of the teen Celebrate Recovery program.
There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing, including two women's sharing groups, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups.
There were age-appropriate activities for eight children at the Brighton Church of God Gym. The evening began with a shared meal. Contributions for the next meal can be made by contacting Sharon at smwagner123@gmail.com.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 p.m.
