Celebrate Recovery meets in Brighton

Approximately three dozen people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds and Washington, including one newcomer, met at the Brighton Community Church Sept. 3. The evening included praise & worship music and a lesson on the how-to's of reserving a daily time with God for self-examination (e.g. taking a regular inventory through journaling, evaluating the good and bad part of each day, and when wrong, promptly admitting it).

There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing, including two women's sharing groups, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups.

Ten children attended the evening which included some special kids' activities, and began with a meal. Contributions for the next meal can be made by contacting Sharon at smwagner123@gmail.com.

The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 p.m.
