Around thirty people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds and Washington, including one newcomer, met at the Brighton Community Church July 23. The evening included praise and worship music and a lesson on forgiveness (accepting God's forgiveness of you, then forgiving others and yourself...and realizing that the biggest roadblock to healing is un-forgiveness).
There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing, and for the first time two women's sharing groups met, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups.
The evening began with a meal and childcare was provided for six children. The group was also reminded of several upcoming items:
(1) there will be a group viewing at BCC of the online annual CR Summit on July 31 and August 1 (one day after each live event); anyone can register at www.crsummits.com;
(2) the online meal contribution sign up system has been relaunched; please visit http://www.bit.ly/CelebrateRecoveryBrightonMealSignUp to help provide meal items; and
(3) CR Brighton will host the Josh Gilbert Band August 6 during a regular CR meeting.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup, will be Thursday, July 30 at the Brighton Community Church at 6 PM.
