Around 26 people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds and Washington, including one newcomer, met at the Brighton Community Church July 30. The evening included praise & worship music and a testimonial from a member of the motorcycle ministry Broken Chains, who struggles with chemical addiction and broken family relationships and has found restoration through Celebrate Recovery. He has gone, he says, from being a hopeless dope addict to being a dopeless hope addict.
There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing, including two women's sharing groups, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups.
The evening began with a meal and childcare was provided for one child. The group was also informed that the meal contribution sign up system is now being managed by a volunteer through email. Please contact Sharon at smwagner123@gmail.com to help provide meal items.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting will guest feature The Josh Gilbert Band on Thursday, Aug 6. at the Brighton Community Church at 7 p.m. The public is invited to this concert. A free will offering will be taken.
