Over twenty people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds and Washington met at the Brighton Community Church Aug. 20. The evening included praise and worship music and a lesson on the importance of reserving a daily time with God for self-examination (taking a daily inventory, evaluating the good and bad part of each day), Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for our lives and to gain the power to follow His will...as we continue to follow Christ's directions for overcoming hurts, habits and hangups.
There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing, including two women's sharing groups, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups.
The evening began with a meal and contributions for the next meal can be made by contacting Sharon at smwagner123@gmail.com The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting will be held on Thursday, Aug 27. at the Brighton Community Church at 7 p.m.
