Twenty-three people from Brighton, Fairfield, Wayland, Olds and Washington, including two newcomers, met for Celebrate Recovery Brighton at the Brighton Community Church Jan. 14.
The evening included praise and worship music, and a lesson on the gifts we will receive when we believe that our Higher Power, Jesus Christ, has the power and will restore us to sanity, after living amidst the insanity of various hurts, habits and hangups.
There was also an opportunity for gender-specific optional individual sharing including two women's sharing groups, one for those struggling with chemical dependencies, and one for all other hurts, habits or hangups. Also, childcare for one youngster was provided.
The evening began with a shared meal. Contributions for the next meal can be made by contacting Sharon at smwagner123@gmail.com.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21 at the Brighton Community Church beginning at 6 p.m.
CR Brighton Ministry Leaders are committed to continue offering this service to area communities while asking participants to follow health protocols.
