Approximately 20 people from Brighton, Wayland, Olds, Washington and Fairfield (including two newcomers) attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting Feb. 6 at the Brighton Church of God.
The evening included dinner; optional small group sharing; and a testimony from Danny, who turned to alcohol and drugs to cope with his emotional pain after his parents were arrested for transporting cocaine in South America. After committing serious crimes, he was arrested and received a double life-sentence. In prison he became Christian and began a Celebrate Recovery chapter. He served 32 years of his sentence and, after his early release, he began serving with Celebrate Recovery Inside (the CR prison ministry).
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery/Celebration Place meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup and their children ages 5-13, will be Thursday, February 13 at the Brighton Church of God. It will begin at 6 p.m. with a free meal. Free child care is available for children under 5.
