Over two dozen people from Brighton, Wayland, Washington and Fairfield attended a Celebrate Recovery (CR) meeting on Thursday, Dec. 26, at the Brighton Church of God. Participants included one newcomer to CR Brighton who had attended Celebrate Recovery when she lived in another state, and found a nearby meeting in her new location by searching the national Celebrate Recovery database of official chapters at https://locator.crgroups.info/.
The evening included dinner, praise and worship music, optional small group sharing and a testimony from Ashley, who used the pain of her past to share the hope and new life found in Jesus Christ. In addition, a coin marking three years of service to CR as part of a participant's healing journey from cancer was presented. A special thanks to First Assembly of God Church in Washington and Washington Church of God for sharing leftovers from their community Christmas meal for the evening CR meal.
The next weekly Celebrate Recovery/Celebration Place meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup will be Thursday, Jan. 2, at the Brighton Church of God. It will begin at 6 p.m., with a free meal. Free child care is available for children under 5. And children ages 5-13 are invited to Celebration Place, the companion program for children whose parents attend Celebrate Recovery.
