Celebration recovery

Around 35 people, including four newcomers, from Brighton, Wayland, Washington and Fairfield, attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting Jan. 16 at the Brighton Church of God. The evening included dinner, praise and worship music, optional small group sharing, a newcomers class for the first-timers, and a lesson on the insanity of repeatedly living amid the same hurts, habits and hangups and the gifts we will receive when we believe that our Higher Power, Jesus Christ, has the power and will restore us to sanity.

Also conducted was the companion program for children ages 5-13 called Celebration Place. Six children attended Celebration Place.

The next weekly Celebrate Recovery/Celebration Place meeting, open to anyone with any hurt, habit, or hangup and their children ages 5-13, will be Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Brighton Church of God. It will begin at 6 p.m. with a free meal. Free child care is available for children under 5.
