CELEBRATIONS: Vittetoe to celebrate 90th birthday

Wilfrid 'Bill” Vittetoe, of rural Washington, is turning 90 years old and will celebrate with an open house hosted by his family on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 1-4 p.m. at the KC Hall in Washington.
Family and friends are invited to attend. Those unable to attend are welcome to send cards to 1122 Airport Road, Washington 52353.
Mr. Vittetoe was born Oct. 12, 1929, in rural Keokuk County. He graduated from Washington High School in 1947. He is a retired farmer and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-1954. In 1988, he was elected to the Washington County Board of Supervisors and served for eight years.
He and his wife, Clarabell have five children: Kathy Thornton of Iowa City; Jerome (Heidi) Vittetoe of Washington; Mary Beth (Steve) DeWall of Spirit Lake; Tom (Tammy) Vittetoe of Washington; and Sue (Brett) Rich of Washington. They also have 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
