Chamber unveils new logo
The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce has anew and revitalized organizational symbol declaring ?Connect. Engage. Prosper.?
The three words describe the business community of the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and the new logo helps communicate those characteristics to the world.
?A logo is something that offers a first impression of an organization,? Chamber Administrator Nancy Morrissey said. ?Our previous logo served us well for nearly 15 years. Now a new look represents the chamber?s long history of working with the rich tapestry of businesses, people and organizations; the features that give Fairfield and Jefferson County its leading edge in the state. Our new corporate symbol is clean, professional and offers a fresh perspective to marketing Fairfield, the surrounding trade area and our chamber members.?
Morrissey added, ?It is important to us that our new logo is an accurate representation of who we are. We couldn?t be more pleased. We now have something that calls to mind our history, our present successes and our future aspirations as the chamber promotes balanced growth to maintain the high quality of life we want for our area workforce and citizens.?
Josie Hannes, chamber board member and owner of Josie Hannes Design/Flair Vintage Décor designed the logo. She felt it should be simple, fresh and contemporary, yet remain timeless. The colors each have a meaning: Blue is the main color in the logo and stands for trust and wisdom; orange for enthusiasm and creativity; red for energy and strength; and green for growth and ambition.
?With recent changes at the chamber, we felt we needed a fresh look that was contemporary and traditional at the same time,? said Terry Baker, chamber president. ?This branding makeover helps us stand out as an organization that is committed to Fairfield and the businesses that keep our local economy strong.?
Community partners prepare for emergency exercise
Emergency preparedness partners will conduct a school-based scenario exercise for countywide emergency response from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 6 at Fairfield High School.
The exercise will give county organizations practice that will be transferable to other emergencies. The school district and the response partners will have the opportunity to review their emergency operations plan and procedures.
Students, faculty and staff have volunteered to participate.
During the exercise, streets in the area could closed to simulate a true emergency situation. Several emergency vehicles including police, sheriff, ambulance, fire, and air rescue helicopters will be in the area.
The exercise will not interfere with normal 911 or emergency operations in Fairfield or Jefferson County.
?We just wanted to make sure everyone knew what was going on and are not shocked when all the commotion starts happening on the morning of Oct. 6,? said Jefferson County Attorney Tim Dille.
For information, call the Jefferson County Law Center at 472-4146.
