May. 31, 2024 10:41 am
Nine members of Chapter Iowa J, Wayland of the National T.T.T. Society met Tuesday evening, May 28, 2024, at the Wayland Community Center.
This year’s camper, Emma, was a special guest, along with her dad, her mom, and her brother. A light supper was enjoyed during a time spent visiting. Emma then was “showered” with all the necessary things she will be taking to camp, and gifts that she will enjoy at home. She is excited to go to camp and will represent Iowa J with joy and enthusiasm.
The regular business meeting began after the guests had departed. Treasurer Lori Messer gave her report and it was accepted and filed for audit. She reported on the successful fundraising event at Mt. Pleasant Pizza Ranch last month.
President Georgia Fort shared an invitation from Chapters A and DD of Mt. Pleasant to attend a special Founder’s Day Service with them on June 4. Five J members plan to attend. Georgia shared that the National Project Fund Fee per camper attending camp in Wyoming, Iowa has gone up to $450 per camper. This is paid by sending chapters to the National Project Fund to reimburse them for each camper a chapter sends.
RAGBRAI will go through Wayland on July 26, 2024. Motion passed for Chapter J to participate with the City in plans to host the riders.
Meeting closed with the Closing Creed.
