Chapter L of TTT Society meets in Olds

Members of Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society met Monday, February 24, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting opened with the singing of Sword of Gold.
Roll Call: Six members answered roll call with: "What is your favorite winter activity?"
Minutes: Nancy McGohan read the October and November 2024 minutes and they were approved as read.
New program books were distributed.
Correspondence: President Shelman shared information on the upcoming convention April 11 and 12. Next month it will be decided who the group's two delegates will be. There is a meeting at 10 a.m. on March 15 at the Burlington Library for convention planning.
President Shelman plans to go and anyone else that wishes to attend may ride with her. Marlys Fear will submit a picture of Louise Unkrich to President Shelman for use at the convention. From the November issue of the TTT Tidings, as well as the National and Iowa State Board Newsletters she shared: the Chapter Survey results, names of the state officers, grants available from Walmart and the Fred Maytag Family Foundation. (The unit's account and password has already been set up for the Walmart grant). The National Convention will be in Chicago October 23-25. Camper survey results were shared. The By-Laws have been worked on and the Des Moines office has changed location.
The Treasurer's report was given by Missy Fear.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Camp: Nancy McGohan reported that she responded to the email stating plans to send two girls to camp and bus transportation wasn't needed. There will only be one camp session this year, June 8-13 due to lower camp numbers. Nancy will start the process of finding the camp girls and report back to President Shelman who will be checking into locating pamphlets to print.
Charity, Camp Girls' Gifts and Ways and Means: Nothing to report.
Unfinished Business, New Business, Bills for Payment and Proposal of Names for Membership: None.
ADJOURNMENT
President Shelman thanked those who attended. The next meeting will be Monday, March 24 at 7 p.m. at the Olds United Church of Christ. The meeting adjourned with the Closing Creed.
Following the meeting a cherry dessert was provided by Marlys Fear, who was celebrating her birthday that day.
WACO FOOD PANTRY
A reminder that the WACO Food Pantry is held the first and third Thursday of each month at the United Church of Crawfordsville. It is open from 2:00-3:30 p.m. for those 60+ and those needing assistance and all others 3:30-5:30 p.m. Please bring your own bags or boxes.
