Chapter NZ P.E.O. continues “Pies in the Park” through July 11

Chapter NZ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood met for their regular meeting on Monday, June 24, in the home of Karen Brimhall with Sheila Allender, Amy Pullis, Madison Pullis, Barb McRoy and Ouida Naylor serving as co-hostesses.
President Jean Thomas presided at the business meeting at 1 p.m. with 27 members present. Reports were given by officers.
Karen Brimhall, representing the Henry County P.E.O.'s, reminded members of 'Pies in the Park” fundraiser in conjunction with the community band concerts Thursday evenings in Central Park. The last night of the fundraiser is Thursday, July 11.
The 2019 P.E.O. Heritage Tour for presidents and organizers from across the U.S. and Canada will be July 18, Elizabeth Garrels said. Mt. Pleasant P.E.O. chapters will provide a tour at 10 a.m. with lunch at the Howe Activity Center at Iowa Wesleyan University following the tour.
'Come and go goodbye coffee” for Bicky Bergstrom was held June 24, at Sunnybrook Assisted Living, announced Sheila Allender, 'The Sisterhood” membership co-chairman. A luncheon was held for a P.E.O. chapter in Indianola and two B&B guests, reported Joyce Dennison, Ways & Means and B&B chairwoman.
At the close of the business meeting, the hostess and co-hostesses served refreshments, and chapter members watched 'NZ Sisters Bringing The Founders to Life.”
The next regular meeting will be held Monday, July 22, in the home of Kathy Schimmelpfennig with Jo Sankey, Kris Emerson and Jennifer Kohorst serving as co-hostesses. The program will be 'Sharing our stories: 50 years of Mt. Pleasant Community Theatre,” by David Brown.
