Chapter NZ talk Iowa State Convention
Chapter NZ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood met for their regular meeting on Monday, May 23, 2016, in the memory rooms of Old Main on the campus of Iowa Wesleyan University.
Co-hostesses for the meeting were Lana Moeller, Betty Lowe, Lea Bradley and Amy Lowe. President Betty Lowe presided at the business meeting with 25 members present.

Chapter NZ of the P.E.O. Sisterhood met for their regular meeting on Monday, May 23, 2016, in the memory rooms of Old Main on the campus of Iowa Wesleyan University.
Co-hostesses for the meeting were Lana Moeller, Betty Lowe, Lea Bradley and Amy Lowe. President Betty Lowe presided at the business meeting with 25 members present.
Chaplain pro-tem, Pat Heusmann, shared the scripture and recording secretary, Jan Lange read the minutes from the April meeting. Corresponding secretary, Jean Thomson, read the correspondence, which included a letter from Meg Richtman, I.W.U. Senior Vice President and Special Assistant to the President, thanking the chapter for their monetary gift. Four women were welcomed as new members.
Membership co-chairman, Elizabeth Garrels shared that she, our delegate and president, will be going to the Iowa State Convention, in Des Moines, from June 3 to June 5, as well as two car loads of members going to the Saturday project luncheon.
B and B chairman, Joyce Dennison, shared that the chapter will be serving a luncheon for approximately 30 members of the Iowa Arts Council, held at the Union Block building, on June 16. Volunteers will be needed.
Memory rooms? chairman, Liz Garrels, announced that the date for the Heritage Tour for presidents and organizers from across the United States and Canada will be July 14. They will visit the birthplace of P.E.O. at Old Main on the Iowa Wesleyan University campus. Two cleaning dates will be scheduled soon. New scripts for the memory rooms are being compiled and tour guides will be needed.
It was announced that members? daughters, Ally Lowe (sponsored by Chapter NZ) and Hannah Stater (sponsored by Chapter EV New London) were recent Star Scholarship recipients. President Lowe thanked project chairman Lacey Harlan-Ralls and her committee, Jennifer Kohorst, Amy Pullis and Jennifer Stater for their diligent efforts in the application process.
It was decided to take a monetary collection for two middle school girls who are going to the National History Day competition. Jennifer Stater is the girls? sponsor.
Vice president, Lana Moeller, announced that the next meeting will be held on Monday, June 13, in the home of Jen Kohorst, with Ginny Lee, Janet Roederer, Mary Shy and Jennifer Stater serving as co-hostesses.
