Child care provider training offered

Child care provider trainings will be offered at the Washington County Extension office and will be presented by 4Cs Community Coordinated Child Care during February and March.

On Saturday, Feb. 20, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. the workshop is ?PLAY to Read!? This is an interactive workshop to consider how engagement with books at a young age can help children develop a rich vocabulary, excite the imagination, generate creativity, develop problem solving, foster a sense of belonging and encourage cooperation?and is FUN! Child care providers will receive a Play to Read activity kit. There is a registration fee. Registration deadline is Feb. 17.

On Saturday, March 19 and April 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day the interactive 6-module series, ?Positive Behaviors ? Learning to Get Along with Others? will be offered. This workshop series looks at how children learn self-regulation, anger management, empathy and social skills that support the development of positive behavior and friendship skills. Discussion will include how children gain these skills and move confidently and successfully in an ever-expanding social world. There is a registration fee for the series. Child care providers must attend both days. Registration deadline is March 15.
