Join prolific pianist and composer Werner Elmker as he takes us on a delightful inner Christmassy journey of improvisational, classical and popular music on Monday, Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Golden Magnolia Sanctuary, 200 S. Main St., Fairfield.
Werner has made a deep impression in Fairfield with his many artistic endeavors. Increasingly known for his magical photos and videos of Fairfield life and nature, Werner has long created magic on the piano as well, with his refined touch and improvisational skills.
One concertgoer commented, “Your sound has a special quality of silence, no matter how loud or soft you are playing. It is cumulative. The silence gets deeper and deeper, and I notice the whole audience sinks into it together, so that by the end, no one can move or speak.”
Werner Elmker moved to Fairfield in 1985 and has performed extensively both locally and elsewhere in the U.S. and Europe. He holds a doctorate in piano performance from the Royal Danish Music Conservatory.
Werner emphasizes the importance of improvisation and being in the moment as the main source of creativity.
Pay what you may. Suggested donation: $20. All concert proceeds benefit Golden Magnolia Sanctuary.
