Church to celebrate 50th anniversary

Faith Baptist Church in Washington will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next weekend.

Connie Bauer, member of Faith Baptist Church, said the celebration begins on Saturday, Oct. 4. Members of the church will be taking the pastor, charter members of the church, and committee members to lunch at Pizza Ranch.

At 5:30 p.m. at the church there will be a potluck dinner, Bauer said. Around 6:30 p.m. the church will have a program that will include a slide show of the 40th anniversary celebration, reading of a poem, a short skit and some songs and biographies of the charter members.

On Sunday, Oct. 5, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. there will be a celebration church service. The service is called "This is Your Life Faith Baptist Church," Bauer said.

Throughout the weekend there will be nine former pastors in town for the celebration, Bauer said. The public is invited and welcome to attend the events.
