Church to host guest speaker

Meghan Good will be coming to Wayland Mennonite on Sunday, May 3. During the Sunday School hour at 9:30 a.m., she will share her faith story. During the worship service at 10:30 a.m., she will preach the sermon titled ?The Small Town Revolution," which will describe the nature of God?s kingdom and how it comes in small-town settings.

The church will have a potluck following the worship service. At 1 p.m., a three-hour workshop will be held. Participants will examine in fresh terms what Scripture is, learn a few simple tips that will transform the way they read it, explore specific strategies for engaging the Bible?s toughest texts, and look at what it means to interpret those texts distinctively as Anabaptists. This workshop is titled ?The Word Wore Red: Interpretation and Imagination in the Biblical Canon? will be open to all who want to come.
