The Jefferson County Fairfield 4-H Clover Kids met from 5:15-6:15 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building.
The 27 members present, working in groups, were asked to create pictures with limited supplies of cardboard, packing peanuts, wooden sticks and markers within a set time limit. The pictures were displayed in local banks during National 4-H Week Oct. 2-8.
The group went on a hayride around the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, with the tractor and trailer provided by Leland and Shirley Stanley. The members talked about all the things they saw on the ride. Carrot cookies and drinks were served.
Helping with the activities were County Youth Coordinator Sunny Allison, McKenna Allison, Juanita Bray, Ella Cass, Karen Crossland, Phyllis Harris, Kelly Lacey, Abi Messer, Eileen and Heather Pickard, Annabelle Sirdoreus and Leland and Shirley Stanley.
Twelve of the Clover Kids participated in the Kiwanis Kids? Day parade Sept. 17. They rode in miniature covered wagons decorated by Sunny Allison, the Stanleys and members of the Jefferson County 4-H Teen Council: Nicole Burke, Justin Godwin, Rachel Shaw and Ethan Tillis.
Teen Council members handed out 4-H stickers along the parade route, and Godwin wore the ?Chris Clover? 4-H clover costume.
Following the parade, Sunny Allison and Teen Council members handed out 4-H balloons, wristbands, tattoos and information in Central Park.
