June 20-22 the Ramp Up With Robotics Clover University Day Camp was held at the Washington County Extension Office. This camp included 14 participants to learn basic programming skills, engineer maps and challenges and then also robots to conquer those challenges.
The days were filled with teamwork, problem solving, engineering, competition and fun. The course was taught by Washington County Extension summer robotics coordinator Joe Pisarik. Washington County Extension is looking to start a community robotics team with the interest of some parent volunteers. Contact Amy at the Extension Office if interested in learning more about this opportunity.
Students finishing fifth and sixth grades participated in the day camp sponsored by Washington County Extension and Outreach. Summer Day Camps are offered each year for youth pre-kindergarten-to fifth grade. Room is still available in other Clover University camps this summer. Contact the Washington County Extension Office for more information at 319-653-4811.
