The Washington United Methodist Women met Aug. 11 with a dessert luncheon hosted by Vic Patterson and Ilene Schnicker. Present were 20 members, and guests, the Rev. Kwang Song and Yune Song. Thank-you notes were read from Reid Basten and Donna Koehler. Charlotte Magdefrau reported that she had delivered cookies to two members with birthdays. Ilene Schnicker gave the Spiritual Growth report on 2 Chronicles 7:13-14. Connie Pence will be working on officers for next year and will give a report in September. President Vic Patterson reported there will be a Southeast Iowa District meeting in Columbus Junction on Sept. 9. The Iowa Conference meeting of the United Methodist Women will be held in the Washington church on Oct. 7. Shirley Pfeifer discussed the In-Gathering kits she had available.

The next meeting will be a dessert at 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 8.
