County Line Club met at the home of Betty Bean with 10 members present. Anita Davis, card committee, passed out gifts to members who had occasions in which to be remembered and ended up giving each member gifts. She also demonstrated how to propagate the plant presented to Kathy Bean.
The meeting was brought to order by president Ginny Schuerman. Roll Call was answered by telling of a special memory of Maxine Duncan, a former member. After discussion it was decided to give $100 to the Washington YWCA to be used to give swimming lessons to children who could not afford them in memory of Maxine Duncan. She did love to swim at the Y !.
Following the meeting a State Fair Trivia was the entertainment and many new "facts" were enjoyed by all. Several members will be attending the fair this year.
Betty served delicious refreshments and visiting finished the evening. All were reminded to check the skies on the way home for the meteor shower.
Next meeting will be with Helen Edwards, and Mike Zahs will try to stump the members with things from the past. Each member is encouraged to bring an old item and Mike will tell the members more about them. It will be Sept.8, at 7 p.m.
