The H.J. Club met at the home of Janelle Marek in Kalona on Thursday, Sept. 21. Members answered roll call by telling their nicknames as children.

The program was about the book by Susie Oberdahlhoff, who lived in Missouri. She was a city preacher?s daughter. After college she married a farmer, and then she learned firsthand what country or farm life was all about. H.J. members, as farm wives, could relate to her many true-life experiences.
The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m., Oct. 19, with Mary Marek at Atrium Village in Hills.
