The Walnut Women?s Club met at 7 p.m., April 27, at the home of Ilene Schnicker.
Schnicker was the hostess and Kate Pacha was the president officer.
There were eight members and one guest attending the meeting.
The guest speaker was Shirley Pfeifer. She spoke about ?Mission trip to Costa Rica.?
Pacha called the meeting to order and roll call was answered by naming the most unusual visitor members had in their homes.
Angie Pfeifer read a thank you note from WCDC and showed the picture of the party they sent.
Pfeifer gave an interesting talk about her mission trip to Strong Missions in Costa Rica. The mission works with children in rural areas teaching them karate, soccer and dance to keep them from getting involved in gangs.
The parents come to the mission to hear God?s word.
Part of the mission group removed tall weeds so they could make a community garden. Some mixed and poured concrete for footings for a building and some worked inside a building and sanded the walls using rocks so the walls could be finished.
Refreshments were served by Schnicker, who was assisted by Pacha.
The May 11 meeting will be at 7 p.m., at Kate Pacha?s home. The program will be given by Marilyn Whiterock called ?Aprons.?
