The Green Acres 4-H Club of Washington County met on Sunday, May 22, at the Washington County 4-H Building. Ten members were present.
President Ellie Todd led the meeting. Samantha Mellinger led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was ?Name one project you are working on for the fair.?
The secretary?s minutes were read by Sophie Bell and approved by Natalie McCleary. Ally Rees seconded them. Ellie Bell gave the treasurer?s report. Zoey Dennler approved the treasurer?s report, seconded by Natalie McCleary.
In old business, members discussed the fair hay bale decorating contest and what ideas club members suggested. Club members voted on the top two choices. Discussion was held on supplies needed to create each one. Bailey Rees approved to go home and see what supplies everyone has to put toward the bale decorating before making a final decision at the next club meeting. Zoey Dennler seconded the motion.
In new business, there are many deadlines to be paying attention to in your 4-H newsletter and/or e-mails from Amy Green leading up to the county fair. The club will not be doing a float in the Ridiculous Day Parade due to many members walking their dog-project dogs in the parade or participating in the Washington County Corn and Soybean Growers float that will have 4-H signs in their float too. Club members are to bring 4 x 5 pictures to the next meeting to update the club pride board for the county fair.
Ally Rees motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ellie Bell. Ally Rees led the 4-H Pledge.
After the meeting, Zoey Dennler gave a presentation titled, ?Dog Treats.? Club members present took a club picture outside by the Old Depot. Ellie and Sophie Bell prepared multiple team building water games after the meeting to play together to encourage more teamwork among the club members.
The next meeting will be held on the fourth Sunday of the month, Sunday, June 26, at 5 p.m. at the Washington County 4-H Building.
