The Wayland Lions Club held its July meeting on Tuesday, July 21, at the Wayland Community Center. There were 11 members present and two guest speakers.
President Ron Marsh called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roger Roth gave the Invocation; then the meeting was adjourned for a delicious meal catered by Alice Hofstetler.

The Wayland Lions Club held its July meeting on Tuesday, July 21, at the Wayland Community Center. There were 11 members present and two guest speakers.
President Ron Marsh called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roger Roth gave the Invocation; then the meeting was adjourned for a delicious meal catered by Alice Hofstetler.
When the meeting was called back to order, Terry Kaufman gave the treasurer?s report and secretary Carol Shumaker read the minutes. Both were approved as reported.
The Wayland Lions Annual July 4, Pancake Breakfast was held from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Wayland Community Center, before the parade. There were 400-plus attendees enjoying this wonderful event with family, friends and guests.
The quantity of reusable Survival Rescue Blankets developed and used for NASA space exploration, was sold out and others will be ordered to fill the demand.
The Wayland Lions will be holding their second Blood Drive at the Wayland Community Center on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Lion Brian Pattyson updated the members on the status of the WACO Leo Program for the upcoming school year. A Faculty Leo Advisor has not been confirmed as yet.
The Wayland Lions were thrilled to welcome Randy Morrow back as a member and Randy was inducted by membership chair Roger Roth as president Ron Marsh looked on.
President Ron Marsh welcomed Jim Hester as his first vice president. Jim was nominated by District 9SE Alert Chair, Marianne Pattyson. Jim was acknowledged for his service to the Wayland Community and his confirmation by the members was unanimous.
The Wayland Lions are honored to serve their communities and are always looking for like-minded citizens to join them.
