Five members and two guests traveled to Sigourney, April 6, to visit the Dumont Museum. This museum has a very large display of miniature trains in realistic settings. Many different trains are all running in different settings, such as farms, cities, shopping malls, airports, hospitals, etc. They found the lighting and actions of the figures incredible.
The museum also features many dolls, from Barbies to life-size dolls, and the props that feature the era. Famous events are featured in another room, with action toys to paper clippings. A collection of Oliver tractors has a building for the big equipment. It houses a few other brands of old farm equipment, all the way from lawn mowers to the big tractors. One could view famous cars to the first settler?s covered wagons. The men enjoyed the visit, as well as the Quester group. It was a lesson in history.
The group enjoyed refreshments at the Sigourney Restaurant before the journey home.
