Nancy Kimmel was hostess to Fleur-de-Lis Club members on Thursday, June 22. Members met at 1 p.m. at Nancy?s home to car pool to Millersburg.

Upon arriving at our destination, members met at the home of Vicki and Jesse Terrell, a blue house on the south side on Highway 78, in Millersburg. They were greeted by Vicki Terrell and her daughter, Mary.

The group enjoyed their hospitality and a tour of their home and an outside glass house filled with a piano and many interesting items as well as viewing their deck and gazebo. Each room upstairs and downstairs in their home is filled with many interesting antiques, collectibles, and memorabilia from family, purchased on her travels to Ottumwa, Kalona and Washington and other various places or had been given to them. Each room has somewhat of a theme such as Christmas, children, patriotic, music to name a few. There were many interesting decorating ideas and everything imaginable to collect and tastefully display. One wall was papered in sheets of music, another papered in copies of post cards and another copies of family pictures. She had fabric made from family pictures and then had an upholstered chair covered. In earlier years, her parents bought the house and redone it as it had grain stored in each room and the pocket doors divided the grain. Since then Vicki and her family have lived in the house for 41 years and have added on and redone. She also was the church organist/pianist at the Millersburg Methodist Church for 40 years before it closed.
