Two circles of United Presbyterian Women met during November. Circle III met the morning of November 10th in the church lounge. Members shared joys and concerns. Leader Jane Fehr led in prayer.
Marilyn Johnston provided a very thought provoking lesson about the physical and spiritual drought in our lives. Each person wrote anonymously about a time of crisis in her life and reflected upon God's life-giving water to get her through the hard time. The lesson was very applicable to daily life when we encounter different times of spiritual drought.
Jane presented devotions from the Mission Yearbook of Prayer. She talked about the decline in church membership in Italy and urged prayer for its growth.
PW dates to remember were discussed and duties were assigned. Nov. 18 is the Brownlee birthday party. Thank Offering Sunday is Nov. 22, with a speaker from Hillcrest Family Services. The Christmas Tea will be Dec. 2, at 1:30 p.m., at the church.
Eleven members of Circle IV met Nov. 11, at 9:15 a.m., in the Campbell Room at the United Presbyterian Home. Betty Beenblossom asked for joys and concerns and opened with prayer. The November special offering benefited the Menaul School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The group made plans for all members to take part in the Dec. meeting by bringing cookies and some Christmas inspiration to share. Janice Twinam reported on the Corresponding Missionary, Tom Johnson. Members volunteered to help with the Thank Offering Sunday and the Christmas Tea.
Betty announced that the PW Spring Workshop will be at our church on April 22.The help of many circle members will be needed.
Jane Cuddeback gave devotions. Kay Hall presented the study, The Absence of Water-Thirst and Longing.
