Fleur-de-Lis Club members met at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, at Custom Impressions in Washington. This local business was originally on the north side of the square and is owned by Marcus and Heather Fedler. They outgrew their space of 3,000 square feet and relocated to a new location utilizing 10,000 square feet about 13 months ago. There are eight employees, including several husband/wife teams. Heather Fedler led the group through their business and gave a very interesting and informative talk on their production areas. Some of the areas include all kinds of printing on different media, plaques and engraving, screen printing and design, sandblasting for glass etchings, a key machine to make keys, rubber stamps, and vinyl graphics on vehicles, to name a few. The group viewed the different areas and saw screen printing, embroidery machines, and an engraving machine working on orders. There is lots of computer technology involved in these processes. UPS picks up many of these orders as they are mailed to various places. Summer is one of their busiest seasons. They also carry a few items of demon wear.
Following the tour, the group went to the Frontier restaurant for their meeting and refreshments hosted by Nancy Kimmel. President Kimmel conducted a short business meeting. Roll call was answered with members telling of their favorite part of the tour at Custom Impressions. Minutes of the December meeting and March meeting were read and approved, as the group did not meet during January and February. The treasurer?s report was also given by Linda Birney.
