The Circle Three Presbyterian?s Women?s Circle met April 20. There were five members in attendance. June Asper shared the opening prayer and devotions.
Joys and concerns were shared. Phyllis Van Gerpen and her husband will be celebrating 63 years of marriage. Congratulations.
Jane Fehr gave the lesson, which was about the Non-Canonical Gospels. These particular gospels are not part of the New Testament. The materials included letters and apocalypses, which were not found in the other 27 books of the New Testament. There were three kinds of Non-Canonical Gospels. They were divided into Infancy, Passon and sayings of our Lord. Members learned there is so much to learn and explore of the history of Jesus.
Phyllis Van Gerpen was responsible for the devotions. A profound thought that was brought forth was, ?We don?t need to defend our Lord but we do need to represent him.?
Phyllis also gave the missionary report on the Callisons. Every step they take is being watched. Mr. Callison responded, ?If my God wants me to be here, I will stay.?
Deb Helmick gave the treasurers report.
Lending Hands was the group?s mission project for the month.
Upcoming events included: a salad luncheon held May 3 and Presbyterian Spring workshop April 29.
Members discussed combining Circles 3 and 4 because of dwindling membership. This will be brought before the PW Coordinating Team Meeting April 20.
The meeting was dismissed in prayer.
