On March 17, Southeast Iowa Button Club met at the Keota Library. Roll call was answered by six members and one guest by showing a shamrock or green button. The guest, Norma Bond of Fairfield, was introduced by Marilyn Klise. Norma shared some very lovely buttons given to her by her father-in-law. Georgia read the minutes of the last meeting. Sharon Hahn gave the treasurer?s report. Marilyn read a news article on Girl Scout Cookies and how to repurpose them into new kinds of treats. She gave each personthe recipes and, also, a box of cookies, so they could try making them at home. Thanks, Marilyn. What a lovely surprise.
Linda Beatty gave a presentation on enamel buttons. Members studied the different kinds of enamels, and Linda described how each enamel was produced and the properties of an enamel button. Meeting was closed.
Awards from our club were submitted for the 2017 state convention. The April meeting will be at the home of Georgia Conrad.
