Circle Three of the Presbyterian Women met at 9:30 a.m., May 9. There were six members in attendance.

Circle Three of the Presbyterian Women met at 9:30 a.m., May 9. There were six members in attendance.
Jane Fehr lit the Christ Candle. Joys and concerns were shared.
June Asper led the lesson. The focus of the lesson was comparing how the three monotheistic faiths ? Judaism, Christianity and Islam viewed Jesus in their theology. Members found it to be very interesting to learn about the other faiths? beliefs. The lesson promoted a good discussion.
Devotions were given by Deb Helmick. One was about Leo Buscaglia, a well-known author. He struggled in school and was assigned to a special education room. The teacher saw his potential and through her encouragement and support, he re-entered the regular classroom. One person can make a big difference in others? lives.
Her second devotion was about Mothers and Mother?s Day.
There was no missionary report.
The treasurer?s report was given by Helmick. She talked about Choices, a local mental health program in Washington. This program was the PW misison offering for May.
Old business: Jane Fehr thanked the volunteers for the month?s birthday party at Brownlee.
Betty Colby talked about East Iowa PW Spring Workshop held in Winfield.
New business: June 7 will be the installation of officers. The birthday offering will be taken.
Circle Three will be combining membership with Circle Four at the Presbyterian Home. The groups will meet together for the June meeting.
