The Green Acres 4-H Club of Washington County met Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at the Washington County 4-H Building. Eleven members were present.

The Green Acres 4-H Club of Washington County met Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at the Washington County 4-H Building. Eleven members were present.
President Sophie Bell led the meeting. Ava Wulf led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was ?Who is someone I look up to and why?? The secretary?s minutes were read by Ellie Todd, approved by Ava Wulf and seconded by Bailey Reese. Ellie Bell gave the treasurer?s report, Baylee Stalder approved and Ava Wulf seconded.
In old business, it was reported that junior 4-H members showing animals at the fair need to attend FSQA. Intermediate members need to test out or attend FSQA if exhibiting animals at the fair. All animal registration is due May 15. There is a 4-H fundraiser at Unc and Neph?s on Tuesday, March 14. The Washington County Fair is July 16-21. The intermediate trip is March 10-11. Spring project extravaganza is March 18. The pancake breakfast and spring preview cattle show is April 15. Green Acres members discussed how ?Repurpose It? went and what they liked about it. Ellie Bell made a motion to let another club take over the food stand at the cattle show, seconded by Ava Wulf.
In new business, Ellie Bell discussed possible club community service projects. Green Acres 4-H members voted on fixing up the champions/herdsmanship boards, and volunteering at the animal shelter. Ellie and Sophie Bell will get details from Amy Green about fixing the champion/herdsmanship boards. Ellie Todd will contact the animal shelter about setting a date for the club to volunteer. Ellie Bell gave a presentation about Iowa Corn and all the uses for corn. Ally Reese gave a presentation on Boer Goats and how to properly take care of them.
Ava Wulf motioned to adjourn the meeting. Zoey Dennler led the 4-H pledge.
