The West Chester United Methodist Women met at the church, April 13, for a sewing day. Six members and one guest, Lolita Brinning, were in attendance. About 72 bags were sewed. They will be filled with school supplies and taken to Mount Pleasant to the Ingathering in the fall. A sack lunch was enjoyed for a lunch break. The group cut and sewed more bags after lunch.

RAGBRAI coming through West Chester in July was discussed. Also discussed was purchasing two new 30-cup coffeemakers to replace the 45-cup.
Pat Dusenbery, Education and Interpretation chairman, reported on 21 school factories that are helping feed the country. North of Oskaloosa, Iowa, is the home of the Groemeki family that has nine special-needs children who are home-schooled.
The next meeting will be May 13, Shirley Pfeifer will present the program on Latin America, which is one the group?s mission studies.
