In Old Business, members discussed the Washington County Fair and what club members participated in. Everyone thanked club leader, Tanya Stalder, for keeping club members informed of what each 4-H?er was involved in so that other club members could support them in their fair events.
The club also extended a ?thank you? to Green Acres Club Leader Tanya Stalder and her family for hosting lunch at their camper to kick off the Washington County Fair too. Members also talked about the Iowa State Fair and what club members participated in. Members discussed scraping and painting the Washington County Fair Old School House as per the DuPont Pioneer Grant members were recently awarded. Sophie Bell will contact Donna Palmer to secure dates for club members and their families to scrape and paint this Open Class Building located at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
In New Business, club leader, Tanya Stalder, talked about what is required in record books and that they are due at the next meeting.
Club members also brainstormed ideas for next year?s meetings and fun activities to do, creating a list of suggestions for Green Acres Club Leader to use as she plans out the new 4-H year.
At the September meeting, they will have their Family Potluck Supper, election of officers and hayrack Ride. Member?s talked about the officer positions and decided members would not have any game planners and instead have a communications director to help promote, remind 4-H?ers of upcoming events, activities and deadlines.
Members also discussed having two historians instead of one so they could team together to compile the yearly Historian?s Scrapbook and if one would be absent from a meeting/activity the other would be there to take photos for the Historian?s Scrapbook. Ellie Bell approved having a communications director and having two Historians.
Millie Craig led the 4-H Pledge.
The next meeting will be held on the fourth Sunday of the month, Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Washington County 4-H Building.
