On Sept. 14, seven members of the Walnut Women?s Club met at 3:30 p.m. at Repurpose It for a club tour of some Washington shops. At the five different places visited, something of everyone?s interest was found. These were wooden furniture, seasonal decorations, antique items for the home, various collectibles ? especially many, many cookie jars ? at Box Car Treasures, clothing and jewelry, religious items, food items, and a wide variety of gifts and sewing supplies. The group also attended Farmers Market and then gathered at the Frontier Restaurant.
The members were missing Pat Johnson, who died on Sept. 6. She was a very active member for more than 50 years, and enjoyed sharing her collectibles and going on club tours, especially promoting downtown Washington.
The club was scheduled to meet again at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 19 at the home of Angie Peiffer.
