The Green Acres 4-H Club of Washington County met Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at the Washington County 4-H Building in Washington. Eleven members were present.
Sophie Bell led the meeting. Ally Rees led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was ?What is your favorite holiday and why?? The secretary?s minutes were read by Ellie Todd, approved by Baylee Stalder and seconded by Ally Rees. Ellie Bell gave the treasurer?s report, approved by Baylie Rees and seconded by Ava Wulf.
Members updated their contact/agenda list and also talked about how their bake sale had gone. They were reminded that enrollment would be due Nov. 9. Ellie Bell handed out premium checks to all who had turned in record books after the 2016 county fair. Everyone discussed the type of Green Acres apparel they would like to purchase. The 4-H family awards night potluck supper will be at 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12. All Green Acres members need to attend this event.
For the December meeting, members decided between having a soup supper, caroling, $10 gift exchange, dessert walk or hot cider. Ava moved to have a soup supper, caroling at the McCreedy Home, giving desserts to the residents, and having hot cider. Sammy Mellinger will bring cheesy potato soup, Sophie and Ellie Bell will bring chili, and Ally and Bailey Reese will bring cheddar chowder. Ellie Todd asked if the members of Green Acres would be willing to donate money to Dance Marathon. Ava moved to donate to the dance marathon, seconded by Joe McCleary. Bailey Rees motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Natalie McCleary. Zoey Dennler led the 4-H Pledge.
Meetings are held at 5 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of each month.
