The Garden Department of Fortnightly met at the home of Linda Varney, April 19, 2016. Eight members were present.
The minutes were read and approved, with corrections made. In Old Business, it was noted that a chain saw was still needed to clear the area at City Hall. A report was made about what the Garden Club did last fall to care for the area. In New Business, Vivian Griffith moved to change the meeting time to 6:30 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. Jane Kruse seconded, and the motion passed. Members learned that the price for tickets to the May breakfast would be $7. The tree giveaway will be held on May 15. The June 25 meeting will be at Project Green in Iowa City. The group will go to lunch and then tour Project Green, during its hours of 3 to 8 p.m.
The program for the evening was ?How to Preen Your Garden.?
The meeting was adjourned, and refreshments were served.
The next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., May 17, at the home of Vivian Griffith.
