The Washington United Methodist Women met on May 12 at the church for a luncheon, with 20 members present. Hostess was Oma Munn, with Connie Pence assisting.
Discussion was held on two upcoming receptions. It was announced that Sharon Wagner would make a wreath to be used at funerals. Ilene Schnicker gave a Spiritual Growth report from 1 John 4:10. She also read a couple of readings, ?Only One Child to Love,? and ?Buying the Perfect Mother?s Day Gift.? Sally Beasley gave the Mission Focus on the Philippines, Dakota Pipeline, and Missions on the Border.
Discussion was held on the June 9 meeting, which will be at the church. Members signed up to bring salads and table settings. Guests are welcome, with reservations to be made by calling Ione Burham. The theme is Rosie the Riveter. The menu will be like a meal from the 1940s.
The program was given by Marilyn Whitenack on aprons. She showed some of her collection and discussed the history and uses and types of aprons. Several members wore an apron, and many remembered the era of aprons.
The closing prayer was given by president Vic Patterson.
