CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS: Jefferson County Health Center Auxiliary tea

The Jefferson County Health Center Auxiliary hosted its annual Spring Appreciation and Membership Tea April 5 at the Fairfield First United Methodist Church.

The gathering is held each year to honor members and to promote new membership.

Kathy Tollenaere presented the program on the 'Art of Napkin Folding.”

President Susan Muntz welcomed the members and introduced the current board members.

Past president Barbara Gaumer installed the new officers for 2019-2020. The new officers are: president Connie Ferrel; first vice president Susan Muntz; second vice president Lynne Johnson; secretary Kathy Gerard; assistant secretary Saundra Ensminger; treasurer Jean Keller; assistant treasurer Emily Ledger; corresponding secretary Aleta Mottet; past president and adviser to the board Barbara Gaumer.

Also during the tea, committee chairwomen were honored. The honorees were: Bargain Box, Deb Bartholomew; Gift Shop, Kathy Gerard; health education, Ulala Conger; library cart, Walta Bloomquist; membership, Sharyn Workman; publicity/historian, Lynne Johnson; scholarships, Sylvia Fredericks; Sewing, Judie Herzog; social events, Linda Zelinski; community service, Kathy Horn.

The Jefferson County Health Center gave each auxiliary member a pen, and the auxiliary donated a tin of bookmarks for the attendees to take home. Linda Zelinski, social events chairwoman, presented the door prizes of the table flower arrangements and/or coupons to The Bargain Box.

Refreshments of layered pudding dessert, nuts, mints, and Easter candy were served.

The auxiliary operates the Gift Shop and The Bargain Box. Profits from these are used to meet the needs of the health center, the patients and their families. The auxiliary also awards scholarships totaling $18,000 annually to recent and non-recent graduates who are pursuing studies in a health related field. The JCHC Auxiliary currently has 290 members.
