American Legion Auxiliary
Members of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 47 will hold a bimonthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday the Fairfield VFW Hall.

Sac & Fox Lapidary Club
Sac & Fox Lapidary and Rock Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Creative Edge Master Shop.

Fairfield Women's Club
Fairfield Women's Club Inc. will meet for lunch at noon Wednesday at the McElhinny House.
Debbie Riepe will serve as hostess, and Loretta Rinaberger as greeter, assisted by Jane Bush, Walta Bloomquist, and Sharon Schafer.
Installation of new officers and a program on women's health will follow a business meeting.
Reservations for lunch are needed by 3 p.m. today and can be phoned to 693-3068.
Kosauqua Lions hosting soup supper, auction
KEOSAUQUA - The Keosauqua Lions Club will host its soup supper and auction Friday evening at the Roberts Memorial Center north of Keosauqua on the Van Buren County Fairgrounds.
The soup supper will be at 5 p.m., and the auction will be at 6 p.m.
The supper will include chili, potato soup, oyster soup and dessert for a free will offering.
Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties Board of Directors
Members of The Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties Board of Directors met recently at the Fairfield Tenco offices; the January meeting was postponed due to weather.
Thank you's were read from: Camp Courageous for two donations totaling $5,129; Camp Courageous for travel-sized lotions/shampoos/soaps and magazines donated to Arc by Linda Stine and Marian DeVore and delivered to camp by Christina Engwall; for Christmas donations from Community Child Care Center; James Morrissey; teachers John Eister, Toni Scott, Valerie Morett (Cardinal), Rose Pugh, and Rosemary Weiss.
Donations were received from Judy Lauritsen, Peggy Rogers, Olivia Hedblade; and the William M. & Donna J. Hoaglin Foundation -- this $1,000 grant is applied for to assist with camperships to Camp Courageous for special education students in Van Buren County. Darlene Vorhies noted a grant has been applied for from Alliant Energy. It was noted Graf & Co. is a sponsor of a Challenger team.
President Lynn Kane reviewed concerns of scheduling the annual spaghetti supper hosted by the Elks Lodge in March due to conflicts with Elks activities already in place. April 11 was chosen for confirmation.
Gayle Hervey, Janet Morris, and Brian Simmons were appointed to serve as the Nominating Committee.
The following appointed to serve on the Scholarship Committee: Gayle Hervey, Mary Sue Hoaglin, Janet Morris, and Janel Orgovanyi. Approval was given to reserve five booths at the 2019 Greater Jefferson County Fair for The Arc's silent auction. Janel Orgovanyi and Sabrina Kurka will review possibilities for a raffle.
The Arc of Jefferson & Nearby Counties Board of Directors meets again March 28.
