Celebrate Recovery
Two dozen people from Washington, Brighton, Fairfield, Salem and Wayland attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Brighton Church of God in Brighton.
The evening included dinner; praise and worship music; optional small group sharing; and a testimony from a father and daughter who both had feelings of being worthless, as they were each sexually abused as children. Turning to shame, guilt and fear, they experienced consuming anger that brought destruction within their lives. Turning to God, they learned that they mattered to Him and that He was faithful and could transform their lives.
Thirty-seven people, including four newcomers, from Washington, Brighton, Fairfield, Salem and Wayland attended a Celebrate Recovery meeting Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Brighton Church of God.
The evening included dinner; praise and worship music; optional small group sharing; and a lesson on how reserving a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will ... will help us in recovering from any hurt, habit or hangup.
The next weekly meeting, open to anyone with a hurt, habit, or hangup, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Brighton Church of God.
