James Colbert, a 2018 Highland High School graduate, has applied for and will be receiving his American FFA Degree at the 93rd National FFA Convention.
This year's convention is a virtual event, but organizers are still taking steps to assure degree recipients are properly recognized in the convention program.
The American FFA Degree is the highest degree that an FFA member can apply for. Unlike the State FFA Degree, which only 3 percent of the country's FFA members receive, a slim 1 percent of FFA members receive their American FFA Degree.
To receive their American Degree, members must have received their State FFA Degree, graduated from high school, filled out a recordbook for up until they are 21 (or younger) after graduation, sent in proof of record keeping as well as their supervised ag experience records.
