MOUNT VERNON ? Cornell College named over 200 students to its Dean?s List for the Fall 2016 semester. Dean?s List students include:

Adrianna Pacha of Brighton, who earned Honors.

Honors signifies a semester grade point average of 3.6 to 3.79; High Honors signifies an average of 3.8 to 3.99; and Highest Honors signifies a 4.0 grade point average.

IOWA CITY ? Students named to the University of Iowa?s President?s List for the fall 2016 semester.

AMES ? Heartland Co-op is pleased to partner with Iowa State University to offer a $500 academic scholarship to Trent Taglauer majoring in agricultural business ofBrighton, for successful completion of the individual project for Cooperatives (Economics 332).

Taglauer was eligible for the scholarship because of membership in Heartland Co-op (self, parent/guardian, corporation), enrollment and successful completion of the specified course and finally, submission of the final project to evaluators.

The course (Economics 332) is a survey of cooperative activities with an emphasis on agricultural cooperatives. Among the topics for the class are understanding the types of cooperatives, methods of organization and operation, principles, legal and tax aspects, cooperative finance, economic possibilities, and limitations of cooperations. Students learn how to work together in teams to solve problems while role-playing directors of cooperative boards.
