CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- Leah Vance, a social work major from Bonaparte, was named to the dean's honor list at Cedarville University.

The recognition required Vance to maintain a 3.75 minimum grade-point average while carrying at least 12 credit hours during spring semester 2019.

Central College

PELLA -- Local students graduated from Central College with bachelor's degrees in May:

Shayla Filson of Birmingham, elementary education.

Simpson College

INDIANOLA -- Sarah Frey, dughter of Susan and Shawn Frey, received the Outstanding Senior in Interactive Media at Simpson College's Honors Convocation ceremony April 24.

The award is presented to the graduating senior in interactive media who has excelled in upper-level coursework with special consideration given to research projects and internship participation.
