Central College
PELLA -- More than 275 students earned a spot on the spring 2019 dean's list for Central College.
The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.
Local students on the dean's list include:
Aspen Clark of Packwood; Courtney Comstock and Maci Gambell, both of Hedrick; Natalie Jones of Fairfield; Megan Rohr of Brighton; Paige Winn of Ollie; and John Zeitler of Milton.
Kirkwood Community College
CEDAR RAPIDS -- Kirkwood Community College has released its dean's list for the spring 2019 semester.
These students have achieved a 3.3 grade point average or higher after completing 12 or more credit hours at the college.
Kirkwood students from the area earning the distinction include:
Bonaparte: Sarah Nutt.
Brighton: Brianna Fritz and Garrett Ikerd.
Douds: Mackenzie Winslow.
Fairfield: Ashley Pool and Kenady Waugh.
Hillsboro: Connor Conrad.
Keosauqua: Paige Grimm and Thomas Laughlin.
Milton: Mason Thomas.
Stockport: Charity Whittenburg.
Morningside College
SIOUX CITY -- Morningside College recently conferred 134 Master of Arts in Teaching degrees and 21 Master of Science in Nursing degrees during its graduate commencement.
In addition to the spring graduates, degrees were conferred upon August and December 2018 graduates, as well as students expected to graduate in August 2019.
Area students include:
Libertyville: Jennifer Christensen, Master of Arts in Teaching, December of 2018.
Milton: Holly Callas-Sullivan, Master of Arts in Teaching, May of 2019.
McKendree University
LEBANON, Ill. -- Megan Black, of Batavia, was named to the McKendree University Dean's List for earning a grade-point average of 3.60 or higher during the spring 2019 semester.
Boston University
BOSTON, Mass. -- Jackson M. Brown, a resident of Fairfield, has recently been named to the dean's list at Boston University for the spring semester.
Each school and college at Boston University has its own criterion for the dean's list, but students generally must attain a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale, or be in the top 30 percent of their class, as well as have had a full course load as a full time student.
Buena Vista University
STORM LAKE -- The following local students were named to the Buena Vista University Dean's List for the spring semester:
Quenton Dodson of Birmingham, Katey Liles, of Eldon, and Kaitlin Sedore, of Birmingham, each earned dean's list recognition at BVU's Ottumwa site.
Wava Jarr, of Fairfield, also was named to the Buena Vista University Dean's List for the spring semester.
Students named to the dean's list must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the semester, based on a 4.0 grade-point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.
